1. About us
Quick Talk Tutor Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16435617.
Registered office: 142 Collingwood Court, Washington, NE37 3EF.
You can reach us through the Contact page on this website.
We provide online English teaching and support services, including IELTS, PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, OET, UKVI test information, conversational English sessions, diagnostic sessions, and related educational services. Our services are educational. They are designed to help learners understand their test, improve performance, and make better decisions about their next step.
2. Information, not advice
We provide information about English language tests: what each test measures, how it is scored, and what the test providers, regulators, universities and the Home Office publish about which tests they accept. Where we refer to a requirement, we are restating what that organisation has published, and we tell you where to check it.
We are not a test centre, a regulator, a university admissions office, an employer, or a government authority. We do not provide immigration advice and we are not regulated to do so.
Requirements change, sometimes at short notice. Before you book a test or make an application, you must confirm the current requirement directly with the relevant official body. We are not responsible for a decision you make on the basis of information you have not verified with that body.
3. Services covered
- IELTS support
- PTE Academic support
- TOEFL iBT support
- OET support
- UKVI test information
- Conversational English sessions
- Diagnostic and planning sessions
- Urgent decision sessions
- Free fit calls, where offered

Each service is described on the relevant page of this website. If there is any conflict between these Terms and a service page, the service page description applies for that specific service.
4. Website use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not damage, disrupt, or interfere with the website or other users. You must not attempt to hack, scrape, copy, or misuse the website content or systems.
We may suspend or refuse access if we believe a user is misusing the website, submitting false information, or acting abusively.
5. Booking
A session or service is confirmed once payment has been received and you receive a booking confirmation, unless we state otherwise in writing.
You are responsible for:
- Choosing the correct service
- Providing a correct email address and phone number
- Checking the booking time, including the time zone
- Attending on time
- Making sure your internet connection and device are ready
If you book the wrong service because you gave incomplete or incorrect information, we are not responsible for the outcome.
6. Payment
Prices are shown on the Pricing page or agreed in writing before purchase. We may change our prices at any time, but a change will not affect a booking that is already confirmed.
Unless we state otherwise:
- Full payment is due before the session starts
- Packages must be paid for in advance where that is the stated booking format
- A booking is not secure until payment is completed
If a payment is reversed, charged back, or fails after a session has been delivered, we may suspend further sessions until the amount is settled, and we may recover the amount owed.
7. Diagnostic sessions
A diagnostic session reviews a score report, writing sample, route question, or performance problem, and identifies the likely reason a learner is not progressing. It is an educational review. It is not an official test review, a legal opinion, or an immigration decision.
A diagnostic session may include:
- Review of score report details
- Explanation of patterns in the report
- Identification of the likely weak area
- Information on whether to continue, retake, change strategy, or consider a different test
- A suggested next step plan
Any score or band estimate we give is our professional opinion and is indicative only. It is not an official result and it does not predict your actual test outcome. Only the test provider can issue a real score.
8. Written feedback
Written feedback, marking, reports and action plans reflect our professional judgement based on the material you provide. They are educational opinion, not a certified assessment, and different examiners may reach different conclusions.
9. No guarantees
We do not guarantee:
- A particular band, grade, or score
- Passing on the next attempt
- A visa result
- A university offer
- Professional registration
- Employment
- A specific improvement after any one lesson or session
Your result depends on your effort, the test conditions, the time available, and factors outside our control.
10. Session delivery
Sessions are delivered online unless we agree otherwise in writing. Sessions take place on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Tencent Meeting, agreed with you before your first session.
- Joining on time
- Having a suitable device
- Having a stable internet connection
- Having any required files or score reports ready
- Being somewhere quiet where possible
If you arrive late, the session will normally still end at the scheduled finish time. No refund or extra time is guaranteed for lateness.
Your use of the meeting platform is also subject to that provider’s own terms. We are not responsible for a failure of that platform, though if a session is lost because of one we will reschedule it or credit it.
11. Recording
Recording is strictly prohibited unless permission has been obtained in advance and in writing. This applies to us and to you.
Where a learner asks for a session to be recorded, we may agree. For a learner under 18, that request and the consent must come from a parent or legal guardian. Recording arrangements are set out in full in our Safeguarding Statement.
You must not record, screenshot, stream, or otherwise capture any part of a session without our prior written permission.
12. Cancellation and rescheduling
This section applies to individual paid sessions. Your statutory cancellation rights for new purchases are set out in our Refund Policy and are not affected by this section.
If you cancel
You may cancel or ask to reschedule a booking by contacting us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time. A request is only valid once we have received it in writing.
We aim to respond within 24 hours. A delay in our response does not invalidate your request if you sent it within the required notice period.
If you cancel or ask to reschedule less than 24 hours before the session, the session fee may be retained in full.
If you do not attend and did not give valid written notice, the session is treated as a no show and the fee may be retained in full.
Rescheduling
Where possible we may allow a reschedule instead of a cancellation. Rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends on availability. If a reschedule is approved, the same cancellation rules apply to the new date.
If we cancel
If we need to cancel or move a session, we will give as much notice as we reasonably can and offer either a new time, a credit, or a refund for the unused session.
13. Packages and lesson blocks
If you buy a package, lesson block, or bundle:
- The package is for the named learner only and cannot be transferred, shared, or resold unless we agree in writing
- Sessions must be used within the validity period stated at purchase
- Unused sessions may expire at the end of that period
- Where a refund applies, completed sessions are deducted at our standard single session rate unless we state otherwise
Refund rules for packages are set out in the Refund Policy.
14. Free fit calls
Free fit calls are limited in scope and length. They help you decide whether a service suits you. They are not tutoring, a full diagnostic, or a lesson. We may change, limit, or withdraw free fit calls at any time.
15. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Giving accurate and complete information
- Sending the correct score report or test details
- Choosing the correct service
- Checking official exam, visa, university, or registration requirements with the relevant authority
We may give information about test routes, but final decisions must always be checked against the official source.
16. Conduct and our right to end a session
We expect courteous behaviour in all sessions and written communication. We may end a session immediately, and may decline further bookings, if a learner or a person connected to them behaves abusively, threateningly, or inappropriately, or is under the influence of alcohol or drugs during a session. Where we end a session for this reason, no refund is due.
17. Wellbeing
We are English teachers. We are not counsellors, doctors, or mental health professionals. If something you tell us suggests you may need support beyond what we can offer, we may suggest you speak to your GP or an appropriate support service. We are not able to provide that support ourselves.
18. Materials and intellectual property
All lesson materials, templates, written feedback, page content, diagnostic structures, and downloadable resources remain our intellectual property unless we agree otherwise in writing.
You may use them for your own personal study only. You must not share them publicly, copy them for commercial use, sell them, use them to train any automated system, or present them as your own work.
19. Material you send us
If you send us essays, recordings, score reports, or other materials, you confirm that you have the right to share them and that doing so does not breach anyone else’s rights, including copyright, confidentiality, or data protection obligations.
You must not send us material containing personal information about any other identifiable person, including patient information. If you do, we will delete it and ask you to send an anonymised version.
We use what you send to deliver the service, give feedback, and keep a record of the work carried out. We will not publish your personal materials without your permission. How long we keep them is set out in our Privacy Policy.
20. Your indemnity to us
You agree to cover any loss, claim, or reasonable cost we incur as a result of:
- Information you gave us that was false, incomplete, or misleading
- Material you sent us that breached a third party's rights
- Your misuse of our materials
- Your breach of these Terms
This does not apply to anything caused by our own failure to take reasonable care.
21. Testimonials
Any testimonials on this website reflect the experience of individual learners. They are not a promise that every learner will get the same result. We publish testimonials only with the permission of the person concerned. We may edit for length or clarity but we will not change the meaning.
22. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for lost exam fees, lost visa fees, lost application fees, missed deadlines, loss of income, indirect or consequential losses, or any outcome that depends on a third party or on your own test performance.
We are not responsible for the acts, decisions, delays, technical failures, or cancellations of any test centre, test provider, regulator, university, employer, or government body.
Where we are found liable for something that can be limited by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these Terms affects your right to have services carried out with reasonable care and skill.
23. Events outside our control
We are not liable for a delay or failure to deliver a session caused by an event outside our reasonable control, including internet failure, illness, power failure, platform failure, or emergency. In those cases we will offer a reschedule, a credit, or a refund for the affected session.
24. Learners under 18
We teach learners aged 16 and over. Where a learner is under 18, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required before the first session. Full details are in our Safeguarding Statement, which forms part of these Terms.
25. The Student Practice Area
The Student Practice Area is an optional feature included with programmes. It is not sold separately and it has no cash value.
- It is for learners aged 18 and over only. You must declare your age before entering. Declaring under 18 blocks access permanently for that account.
- You must give consent before use. Submitted writing is sent to Google Gemini for analysis, and on the plan currently in use that text may be used to train their systems. You must tick a box confirming you understand this. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
- You must answer the age question honestly. By continuing you confirm the age you give is accurate. Where access is obtained by giving an inaccurate age, we cannot accept responsibility for the consequences of that data being processed as adult data, and we will remove access as soon as we become aware.
- Feedback is indicative. Any score the tool gives is an estimate produced by an automated system. It is not an official result and it does not predict your test outcome.
- Practice time is bundled with your programme, is released in timed blocks, and expires with the programme.
- Your login is personal. Sharing it ends access.
- We may change, suspend or withdraw the Practice Area at any time. It is a supplementary feature, not part of the core service you paid for.
If you would rather not use it, tell us. We will cover the same ground in your sessions instead and nothing about your programme changes.
26. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us through the Contact page with the details. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within three working days and to respond fully within fourteen working days.
If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution provider or take the matter to court.
Complaints specifically about how we handle your personal data are covered separately in our Privacy Policy
27. Privacy and cookies
Your personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
28. General
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Waiver. If we do not enforce a term on one occasion, that does not prevent us enforcing it later.
Assignment. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another business. You may not transfer yours without our written agreement.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the service page description and the policies referred to here, form the whole agreement between us.
Third party rights. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.
Survival. Sections covering intellectual property, indemnity, limitation of liability, and governing law continue to apply after our agreement ends.
Notices. Formal notices must be sent through the Contact page, and to you at the email address you gave us.
29. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this website with the date it was last updated. If a change materially affects a booking you have already made, the version in place when you booked will normally apply.
30. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory law says otherwise.
